With us, it's always been about family
When our five year old began having bad dreams, it was two weeks of misery. She woke us every night, crying, or would crawl into our bed terrified.
My wife worked 14 hour day shifts as a nurse. Losing sleep was not making her life easier.
So one night, out of desperation for a full night’s sleep, we gave her a pillow which had pictures of puppies on it, then instructed our German Shepherd to sit in front of her door. We told her to pretend the puppies where there to protect her and Nova would chase any others away.
It worked. She slept all night and every night after.
My Dream Dogs was born from that idea—giving a child added security, to believe a favorite furry friend with special skills can protect them against their worst fears.
